Coastal Biomedical Research Activity Seminars IMG_1285

This will be a series of monthly meeting with all active members of the INBRE research faculty and INBRE students. All faculty and students in the INBRE program are expected to attend these monthly meetings.   This program’s main goal is to foster a culture of learning and dialog within the field of biomedical research through exposure and discussion of relevant topics.  The sessions will cover research project with the university, career development training, student mentoring, trips to biomedical faculties and guest speakers in the biomedical discipline.   These sessions are open to all members of the community that is interested in biomedical sciences. The sessions will be posted on the university calendar.


Goals of the CoBRAS program

  • A seminar series (Brown bag experience) that will meet every month, all year long.
  • Students will present research to other undergraduates and faculty to better learn communication skills.
  • Journal articles related to research project will also be presented to expand current knowledge of scientific content (outside of the material covered in a lecture course).
  • Travel to Biomedical Research Sites/Employers to gain valuable networking connections.
  • Present research at scientific conferences to display the quality of research conducted at Coastal Carolina University.
  • Guest speakers will also present their research.
  • Professional development of young scholars to help them learn valuable skills to help them interview, write personal statements, and prepare them for the next step beyond our university.
